About the course:
Compassion fatigue, also known as the cost of caring, is an occupational hazard in the helping professions with between 60-90% of individuals showing symptoms. It impacts individuals psychologically and physically and potentially may have a significant ethical implication in your sphere of practice. You are at risk? This talk looks at creating awareness around the signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue, as well as tools to bring about balance, connection and emotional resilience within your own life.
About the presenter:
Kim has 29 years’ experience in the area of people development, specifically mentoring and coaching. She has worked for the Human Sciences Research Council as an Industrial and Research Psychologist conducting research, training and development. As an associate of Competitive Dynamics International (CDI) she consulted to the manufacturing, retail and service sectors, bringing International Best Practice to the front line through a coaching and mentorship process
